...And if you look northwest of the city, there's still some visible daylight. Can anyone fill me in here?
The summer solstice isn't for another good three weeks, is it?
Did my entire workplace miss a time-change?
Also, I walk home at the same time every Monday night, and for some reason, the city is fricking buzzing tonight.
Maybe you guys know something about daylight after midnight, because I am lost on this one.

Dear Internet Bootcamp,
Yes, I would like to make $1000 in 3 days, but not with you guys...No more e-mails, please.
~sarah p.
If you live in Canada, you should watch MuchMoreRetro, beacuse they just played Prince, and then Michael Jackson, and then they topped it up with two canadian favorites: some old-school Alanis (prior to Jagged Little Pill, she was a Debbie-Gibson-esque pop singer, and didn't use her last name), and Mitsou (a pretty bad french-canadian pop star). Is Mitsou still around? I'll have to ask my french pals.
Anyway, I'm pretty jazzed about what they will play next.
Jenny Junk has been writing me, and that makes me even more excited to meet our newest CLC member, as I have a feeling she might be pretty darn awesome.

Madness...
I've been a busy bee these past few days...Busy with hilarity and awesomeness.
I promise I'll post some photos ASAP, as soon as I figure out my photo-sharing-software situation.
Atmosphere's new-ish album is crazy hot. In fact, pretty much any hip hop on Epitaph/Definitive Jux Records is hot (Aesop Rock, I'm nodding in your direction)....Think you guys know what to do.

Listen to me veerrrryyy closely...
Step 1- Go to this site.
Step 2- Download some mashups (I suggest the mashup "Supastar Summer of '95" for starters).
Step 3- Go shake yo' ass.
Today is my friday, and tonight I am bound to get in a bit of trouble. I will be spending the night in a limo with my pal Selina, who pretty much wins everything on the radio (not even joking, she's won 3 times this week). We're going to a crappy bar, but at least I get to pretend I'm all important. I should probably wear sunglasses to protect my identity, or people might want my autograph, right?
Anyway, my photo-sharing software is sucking it big time right now, so I may have to switch over to Flickr...We'll see. I will have some photos.

Sometimes...
When it's almost 4AM, and you're really, really tired, but you can't sleep, it's nice to just go and catch some butterflies.
I'm in, Ron...
Ron passed the musical baton to me, so here I go....
Total volume of music on my computer: Right under 3.8 GB right now, but growing every day.
The last CD I bought: Hed Kandi Spring Sampler 2005 (and I haven't stopped dancing since...).
Song playing right now: Pictures of Success-Rilo Kiley
Five songs I listen to a lot (in no particular order):
~Oh My God - A Tribe Called Quest
~Superstition - Stevie Wonder
~Say Yes - Elliot Smith
~Wanna Be Starting Something - Michael Jackson
~Unchain My Heart - Ray Charles
Three very sweet people to whom I’m passing the baton:
~Nicole Boardway (who has proven to me way too many times that she can burn a proper mix cd).
~Kate Tucci ( Just so the rest of you know, you need special permission to get onto Mrs. Tucci's site, because she a bit toooo popular, if you know what I mean, and I'm sure you don't.) :)
~Chris Tucci (Who I know has some seriously good taste in music).
As for the rest of you, the Awosting staff is looking for a new song for the summer. Last year, the official song was "Brick House". The song is mainly used for the staff, and mainly played at, umm, the local watering hole.
Here are the rules for the song:
1. Bob Gaynor (the main music guy at Ditto's) should probably already know it, or should be able to easily learn it.
2.It should be a song that pretty much everyone can recognize when they hear it for the first time (not too obscure)
3. The words shouldn't be too complicated , as we must be able to sing the song while in a not-so-sober state.
4. It must make you feel like dancing...Right NOW.
We need suggestions, and we need them now. The summer starts soon.
Last of all, I'd like to present the official roster for the CLC 2005....
Teaching ceramics for the second year in a row, Melony B.
Official sophomore Cabin 1 mommy, Sarah B.
Rookie gymnastics instructor, Jen J.
Behind the lens for year #3, Sarah P.
Beside the CLC, Nicole B will be rocking the infirmary.
Keeping Boulder Ridge Daycamp in line, Kate T (official honorary member).
It's going to be a great summer, girls!

'Nuff Said.
So, you know how normal people, when they mix their booze, tend to use things like juice and soda and stuff? Last night, we were using vodka coolers as mix. Umm...yeah. The camera didn't even come out of my bag last night, but I still have a couple of photos from last week that I haven't posted. Soon, my friends...Soon.

What did I eat tonight?
So, I come home at 11-ish, and my stepdad had made me a nice plate of chicken and ribs. Most people would say "meh....Chicken and ribs...Whatevs". However, maybe you guys don't understand how I eat. The best word to describe it? Bad.
It's not that I don't eat healthy, it's just that I'm always eating on the run, and never get time for a proper meal. For example, how many Safeway salads have you had in the past week? A normal person might say that they've had none, or maybe one. I, on the other hand, have had 4. I spend a ton of cash on food. At the present moment, I just don't have time for a proper meal. I do eat awesome meals about three times a week...When my stepdad or Dylan cooks.
This is probably the main reason why I don't mind the camp food...It's not perfect, but at least I actually sit down when I eat!
Oh, yes.....Here's the latest: Dave Chapelle Speaks.
Here's a kickin' mix to download, which has one of my fav tracks, Guru's Surviving tha Game. I've been back into Guru (not to be confused with Jeru the Damaga, who is also top-notch) pretty heavily lately, as he's done some serious collaborations, and his solo stuff is a-ma-zing. Now get to downloading!
Soooo much respect for this dude.
Bob Saget is not Danny Tanner (seriously, not for the easily offended).
My new favorite time-waster...Overheard in New York!
Newwwwwwwww fatboy Slim video. He throws down the videos like nobody's business.
Night!

Dave Chapelle, WTF?
So, Andy tells me that the 3rd season of the show is delayed because Dave has become a devout Muslim.
Dylan tells me that he has had discrepancies with his writers.
Then, I read this.
I need you, Dave Chapelle.
...Pretty classic night, I'll post photos/stories later.

Sauce Guides!!!
So, after reading "The Sauceguide to Gin", I realized that from now on, everything I read should begin with "The Sauceguide". Here are some titles that I'm looking forward to reading:
*The Sauceguide to Liquor That Comes in Plastic Jugs
*The Sauceguide to Keepin' it Real on a Budget
*The Sauceguide to Lip-Synching for Profit
*The Sauceguide to One-Night-Stand Etiquette
*The Sauceguide to Household Pests
*The Sauceguide to Dee Snyder
*The Sauceguide to Quantum Theory
*The Sauceguide to Rocking in the Free World

Sure I Did.
Did I score a real book today called "The Sauceguide to Gin"?
Did I go out for amaretto sours and about a billion wings tonight?
Did I get asked out a total of 6 times today? (pretty funny stuff...Don't think I'll be dating anyone that tries to pick me up in a 7-11 parking lot anytime soon)
Did I hear the worst pickup line ever today? (I had a few flowers in my hair, which is how the conversation started. This guy walks up to my till...He's a regular, and can't be more than a couple of years older than me, which makes the line even more inexcusable...He says to me "I like the flowers in your hair", and my friend Selina says: "She always has flowers in her hair", so the guy says to me: "I think I'd like to date a girl with flowers in her hair". Pretty sure I told him that I was busy for the rest of my life, so I could never date him).
Did I seriously eat my weight in food today? (I was really hungry for some reason, okay?)
Fun night, and probably a better tomorrow.

Let's do some math...
Guys that can cook = Where it's at.
...It's on par with my fondness for guys that spin a proper record.

Went hard.
So, last night, Allison and I go to our friend Crystal's house party. We have some drinks, and played a couple of drinking games, and then everyone decides to go to the bar. The guys at the party want to go to The Ship, but the rest of us were like "meh...Ship...", so instead we hopped in Allison's car and drove to Killkenny. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but in actuality, it wasn't that much fun. So, we got back in the car and headed back to the party. I got way too trashed, and didn't get home until 5:30AM. Then, I had to get up at 8:30 to help my mom with her yard sale. Luckily, I'm a trooper, and have a ton of experience in working while hungover.
It was a fun night, but maybe next time I'll try to remember not to drink as much when I have something to do in the morning. No, I won't.

Foozeball champions (okay, or maybe we lost, I don't know). Pretty sure Clint and I were the best team ever.
This is the point in the night where my words seemed to all slur together. Melissa was a good little dance partner.
Crystal, Lisa, Melissa, and Tara in the back seat on the way to Killkenny (pretty sure that's not how you spell it, but what is this? A frickin spelling bee?).

Sorry...
It's pretty much been forever since I posted some photos, so I'll try to get some fun stuff tomorrow at HiFi, mmm-kay? If you think you may have missed any photos, you can check out the archives on the right-hand side of the page.
I'm a bit sad, as Souls of Mischief are here on Monday, but I can't get off of work to go . : (
BTW... Marco, throwing some Steely Dan in the mix tonight was pretty brilliant. I had "Black Cow" on a "45 when I was a kid, and I used to throw it down non-stop. Well done!

Oooh...
I'd like to encourage everyone to take part in this art project. It's a great concept, and we all have secrets, right?
All up in it.
Here are some things that are totally where it's at right now...
*My toothbrush with the little rubber nobblies in between the bristles...Like heaven in my mouth. Also, brushing your teeth in the shower. The two best personal hygiene processes combined into one....Awesome.
*Not being "too cool" for anything. The other day, this kid at work brings up Ben Folds' cover of "Bitches Ain't Shit", so I began discussing Ron's recent article on the subject. Then, I brought up the fact that I (non-ironically) know all of the word to every song on The Chronic, and he says to me "Really? I thought you were too cool for that". That's when I realized: I don't ever want to be "too cool" for anything.
*Calling up your sister and saying "Hey! I found some sauce in the fridge for you", and when she comes over, handing her a bottle of jerk sauce...Fun for the whole family! Then, feeling kinda bad, and getting her some ice cream from the freezer to make up for the hilarious joke.
*Having the owner of the store be a total ass to you for the whole day, and then having one of the managers buy you some wine at the end of the day to make up for the owner's behavior. It was a horrible day, but once the day was over, I had something to show for it. I hope this trend continues at work, and then I'll have a whole wine collection!
*You know how sometimes you totally love a song, so you repeat it over and over? Here's what's on repeat right now:
~Quantic - Don't Joke With a Hungry Man ... Probably one of my favorite tracks of all time. Do yourself a favor, and go download it.
~Amerie - 1 Thing ... This is one of those songs that will eventually be ruined by over-play on the radio, but luckily, I don't listen to the radio that much, and the stations haven't really picked it up here yet (but they will...trust me, they will). So for now, if this song comes on, you should probably just get out of my way, because I may need to bust a move.
~Paul's Boutique - Beastie Boys ... Yeah, so this has been one of my favorite albums for years, but sometimes I forget to listen to my favorite albums as much as I used to. Lately I've been hooked again, and I've pretty much been rocking it everywhere I go.
*Dylan fixing my TV so I can actually use a remote with it...Even though I don't get around to watching much TV, it was pretty awesome of him! :)
*41 days until I arrive in CT...That's definitely where it's at. To be honest, though, it will probably be the hardest year yet to leave everyone behind at home. This has been a great 10 months (but I promise I'll be back in 3, okay?).

Nursey Graduates!
Today I am so fantastically proud of Ms. Nicole Boardway, who is now officially a university graduate. I know she's not a big hugging fan, but I would still try to sneak a hug in today if I lived anywhere near her. This brings up a good point...Here is one reason why Nicole is such a good friend: even though she's not a big hugging fan, she'll let me hug her once in a while just to keep me happy. Thanks, Nicci B! I am so proud of you!
Last night, my family had a pretty rad dinner. My sister and Dylan came over, and we had prime rib and 3 bottles of wine. Later on, Dylan and I were downstairs watching the new Family Guy, and I get the bright idea to start pouring more drinks for myself. However, I didn't decide to pour some nice normal drinks, and instead started drinking schnapps. This was probably the worst idea in the world, as I felt pretty terrible this morning.
Other than feeling hungover this morning, I have been feeling pretty good the past couple of days. A lot of very funny things have been happening, and I think it's a sign that I'm not supposed to feel upset or angry or guilty anymore. Those who know me well know that I rarely get angry, as I feel that anger accomplishes nothing (especially in cases such as this). I think my best bet is to do my best to forget my past with this person, as our relationship was a bit sour anyway. I have a lot to look forward to, and I should not let my past haunt me forever, right?
Thanks to everyone for your support over the past few days.
P.S. I talked to Paul today, and he may come for a visit before camp...Exciting!
