Jams Of The Week (Missy, Missy, Missy Edition):

Behind Closed Doors.

I live a pretty outwardly adorable lifestyle, so in case you're wondering if I try to be equally adorable behind closed doors, I present to you my current skincare routine. This, my friends, is true commitment to the cause.

Imagine.

That's it, y'all. I can finally quit the internet, because I just found the funniest/most embarrassing/enchanting video that I will ever find. Not only that, it's comments section is truly pure gold, and seems to all fall under the following categories:

Political:
Critical:
Straight-up racist:
Factual:
 Clever:

Point is, if pizza ceases to exist, so. do. I.

Jams Of The Week (You Came And You Changed My World Edition):

Though neither song had any commercial success (I don't think 'Pac's was even released as a single, and MC Lyte has been often looked-over, criminally so, throughout her career), I stand by my firm opinion that sampling Micheal Jackson's 'Liberian Girl' is just about as clever as it comes.

p.s. I only recently discovered the official 'Liberian Girl' video, and it is a virtual who's who of 1987.

Old Ipod.

It used to be that, by 11PM on any given Friday, I would have downed a few triple gin-and-sodas and was probably wilin' out on top of a speaker. Now that I'm in my thirties, and no one wants to see my old ass out on the town, Fridays are decidedly calmer. I found an old Ipod at about 11PM this Friday, and was up later than I would have ever been in my younger, stupider days. Pink, metallic, and shockingly thick, I probably hadn't touched the thing for seven years. As I clicked through, the memories came flooding back. Remember when I was living beside the river and I was dating the Miami bass rapper? Neither did I, until I found a full playlist dedicated to him.

I totally forgot about my 2-year-long life plan to run away with Juelz Santana, how good Ghostface's solo shit actually is, and how Gorillaz's 'Dare' makes people jerk around a dance floor. I forgot that Beyonce's 'Upgrade U' is basically the best song ever, that New Edition sounds best cranked on good headphones, and that there are old soul tracks that give me legit goosebumps. Due to an unhealthy Dilla addiction, I used to download everything and anything any Stone's Throw artist had ever released, no matter how insignificant, and some of it is honestly so fucking amazing.

I could go on all day, but instead, here is a group of amazing tracks that I re-discovered last night:
